The Admiralty collection was inspired by the second Earl Spencer appointed Lord of the Admiralty in 1795.
George John's first slice of luck was to succeed the unpopular Lord Chatham. Of longer term importance to him and the
Royal Navy, he was deeply fortunate to have at his disposal during his tenure of the post some of the greatest sea
commanders of British history; Lord St. Vincent, Lord Duncan, who conquered the Dutch squadron under Admiral de Winter,
and Lord Nelson. The latter who was destined to become Britain's greatest naval hero.
The collection is dignified by its finely cast crossed brass sabres.
Named after the Earl Spencer The Admiralty Suite captures the decadence of our colonial past and the finest traditions of the
Royal Navy. It is a suite of rooms where traditions of timeless splendour meet the epitome of modern island living. It is
place where East meets West in the greatest of nautical traditions.
